Like the title says, there is nothing easier than these sweet potato chips for your dog (or even you)! And oh so natural!!!! Pop a few of these back yourself as a tasty and healthy treat to show your pooch just how yummy they are.

Just preheat the oven to 250 ° and cut a sweet potato in half length wise and then into little “chips”. Throw in the oven for up to 3 hours depending on the crispness you and your dog desire! Let cool. DONE. ENJOY.

Going to use this post again for my daily prompt in order to get some more likes and views and to spread more doggy love!! Because after all I’m sure dog’s get cravings too! Whip them up a batch and feel happy you made your pooches belly smile 😀

wrinkle cream (sensitive skin balm)

As a dog owner I’m sure you know the responsibilities and how much work needs to be put into your pet. But anyone who knows or has a Bull breed or even some pure breds have learnt first hand that the struggle is real! Those adorable Bull dogs,Pitbulls,  Frenchie’s, Boston’s, Boxer’s, Mastiffs etc. can be a lot of work due to health issues but I guarantee are worth it! We will talk about other breeds that are a lot of work in another post. Many of these breeds suffer from allergies to their food, shampoo or even laundry soap you use to wash their bedding. These allergies often cause skin irritations and can be quite gnarly looking and may be painful at times for your pooch. Here’s a quick recipe for a dog “wrinkle cream” or sensitive skin balm.

In a double boiling pot mix and melt all ingredients until smooth, pour into small resealable containers and label so you know what you have found in the cupboard weeks later!

2 tablespoons sunflower oil

2 tablespoons sweet almond oil

1 tablespoon Shea Butter

10 drops lavender/cedarwood essential oil (make sure the oils you choose are not skin sensitive. Like many of the citrus oils are)

1 teaspoon beeswax

Use on dry and sensitive areas like noses, paws, armpits or spots on legs that suffer from chafing. As well as on your cool Bully breeds wrinkles and folds. This balm lasts at least a year and can be used on any dog. For instance my girl gypsy never has skin issues however In the winter I will use this to add extra care and protection on the bottom of her paws since the winters in Alberta are so cold and dry.

Just to prove BULLIES are worth it here is a pic of my favourite english bull dog BIZZY

hamaholic treats

Feast  your eyes on these! ! Reposting to get some more views and likes 🙂 I did actually just make a delicious batch for my pooches and pooches pals and they still love them!

Drawing a blank when it comes to today’s activities?  I was as well (other than the usual Monday routine of spin class and house work). That is until I realized I was doing a bunch for myself, my hubby and my home…..but nothing yet for my pooches. Looked out the window and it’s drab!! Decided instead to whip up some delicious treats for the dogs using leftover ham that was sooooo yummy last week!!! Here’s the recipe I used:

Hamaholic Dog BISCUITS

1/2 cup old cheddar cheese, shredded

1/2 cup low sodium ham, chopped

2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour

1/3 cup vegetable oil

1 egg

1/2 water

Combine all ingredients in large bowl and then knead on floured surface until a nice dough is formed. Roll out into half and inch thickness and cut out shapes of your choice!! I chose my dog cookie cutter and I know my fur babies will think they are super cool 😉

Bake at 350° for 30 minutes then turn oven off and leave to cool for about an hour. Should be a crunchy biscuit:)!

Enjoy!!! (Yes you can even try them!  Testing treats yourself helps picky dogs when they are unwilling to try a treat)

doggy smell good recipe

Needing to mask the smell your dog has chosen to express himself with today and you don’t quite have time for a bath? Use a small glass spray bottle (colored glass is best) water and essential oils to create a pet perfume perfect for a quick fix. Not only do these mixes smell great the essential oil properties really help your pooch!! Such as with relaxation and skin irritations. Here’s an example I like to use

10 drops lavender

2 drops rosemary

2 drops bergamot

Fill rest of the way with distilled water and ENJOY!!! still-life-836844_640
